.The underground Hydroelectric Power Station, The Centre d'Interpretació de Tavascan, in its task of teaching the water's role as basic element Inside the area of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park In the different slopes historical, industrial, environmental etc., it promotes and organizes the visits guided to Tavascan's Cavern.

In this cavern placed to 500 m. inside the mountain called Pic de Guerón, the Tavascan Superior and Tavascan Inferior are situated. These two Power Stations together with that of Montamara Power Station concern to the Complejo Hidráulico del Alto Cardós, an engineering unknown and impressive work , initiated in 1958 and finished in 1974.

In the Centre d'Interpretació's room before the visit a presentation is effected by the projection of an explanatory documentary, which allows to discover the details of the structure, construction, functioning and production of a hydroelectric complex which principal characteristics are:

- A geographical extension as big as that of the Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici.

- It is nourished of the water of three fluvial basins, Tavascan's river, Bohavi's river and Vall Ferrera' river.

- It's underground in 90 % and its three Power Stations of production are placed in enormous caverns excavated inside the mountain.

- A great capacity of production, since the nominal installed power is equivalent to 24 % of the one that possesses a medium nuclear power station.

- One Power Station in the night it transforms on a station of pumping, which restores the damming levels.

- A net of approximately 70 km from tunnels, channels, pipelines and galleries of service that interconnect lakes, rivers, preys and Power Stations.
